Tunxis Grill & Pizzeria in my opinion has the best food in WIndsor. Nothing I have found on the menu is ordinary. Every selection is creative and well-executed.; ingredients are fresh and top quality. Presentation always is excellent. I will say, they are hampered by their success. Parking is often a problem, and the dining rooms are packed so tight they can be noisy and difficult to move in and out of. The food, however, makes it worth the effort.

Ordered for pickup as I was in the area and had a previous good experience. Same quality as before with generous portion sizes and great tasting food. They were busy and poppin on a weeknight around 5 pm! Attentive and friendly staff, kitchen looked busy. Food made accurately. Nice choice of pizza toppings. Eggplant fries portion is generous! Same with a side of penne vodka. Seems like they gave me a full portion.

What a pleasant surprise!! We had a one-night stopover in Hartford after spending 3 weeks in Southwestern CT with family. The check-in person at our hotel recommended Tungxis Grill for dinner, so we tried it. We arrived a little early (around 5pm), and there were only a few others in the restaurant. Shortly after, they were flowing in and the place filled up--amazing for a Monday night, but a testament to the restaurant. My husband and I started with the eggplant fries---and must have because they're amazing! We each had a Caesar side-salad---a good solid Caesar. I had one of the night's specials, Chicken Maison---and excellent chicken and pasta dish with a rose sauce---this should be on the regular menu!! My husband ordered short ribs for dinner---they were a little dry---probably not the right dish to order on a Monday. Portions are huge!! If you have access to a kitchen, plan on leftovers. We'll be back!!!

French onion soup was on point. Had a special bolognese - can't remember the pasta style listed but the had sold out and replaced with penne. Didn't notice it was so good. Everyone at the table - including me, loved our side salads (included.) Fantastic setting and ambience. Service was very attentive.

We are in Windsor Locks on our way north and saw the reviews for Tunxis. Wow! What a great find! I had the chicken parm and it was delish and enough for 3 people! The linguini under the huge chicken breast was perfectly Al dente. Loved it. The photo was taken after I'd eaten not even half! Diner number 2 ordered Edna's lasagne. It was scrumptious! Diner number 3 had penne a la vodka. Yummy sauce! It was great! All the dinners came with large salads and rolls were served for the table as well. The service was friendly and the place is nice looking. Large portions and really good tasting food! If I ever find myself in this area again I will definitely be back. Lucky for you if you live near here!!

My favorite part of the restaurant was the drinks menu! I got the pineapple coconut margarita and it was 10/10! There were so many other drinks I wanted to get but I had to drive home. The arancini was fabulous. Cheesy, soft and the sauce on top made it fire! I also got the chicken Cobb salad which was a huge portion. They did not skimp out on anything. I was very full afterwards. The staff was nice as well. The only thing is their small cramped parking lot. I wish they had a bigger space and more spots. I took the last remaining spot in their lot. Had it not been there, I don't know where I would've parked.

A small spot in Windsor, we met friends here for dinner. It's a nicely decorated and inviting restaurant with a staff equally inviting and accommodating. The server was over very quickly to take drink and meal orders. The entrees were out in no time and did not disappoint. The portions were large and the ingredients fresh and well executed. I orders the Blackened Chicken Pasta and it was delicious! They managed something many others can't, getting the seasoning through the chicken and pasta evenly with just the right amount of spice. This spot is a gem, can't wait to come back to try other entrees.

Make sure you come hungry, the proportions are huge! The ambiance was nice, good drink menus and the prices were very fair. The service was great, our server was very attentive and accommodating to our fairly large group. This place leans Italian, though they consider themselves American. Offering pizza, traditional Italian dishes like chicken parm and penne ala vodka , but also offering other options as well such as burgers, meatloaf and a range of different dishes. I had a chicken parm and substituted the linguini and marinara with penne ala vodka. The chicken portion was huge, but cooked perfectly. The penne was great though the vodka sauce was on the watery side. The bread at the table was hot and fresh. The only thing missing from the menu was a cappuccino. Overall great experience, and will likely be back next time I'm in town.

Sweatshirt and ball cap. Suit and tie??? I believe anything will work as they have plenty of seating options. Just make sure you bring your walking shoes when it's busy. Parking can be a little tricky and you may need to park down the street. Don't fret though you won't wait long if at all to be seated. Once you get in, I hope you brought your wallet as well. Just so you can leave a good tip . Service was spot on. We had a wide variety from the menu. Everything was hot and delivered with perfect timing. They also have takeout. So if you do get a front row spot, it's probably too good to be true if you look at the signage.
